About
I am a resident and native of Raleigh, NC, where my passion for art was cultivated early on. I earned my Bachelors of Fine Art with a concentration in Painting and Drawing from East Carolina University. During this time I also taught Painting classes at the Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge Gallery.
My work includes a variety of subject matter inspired by my observation and experiences. They are a reflection of people, places, and things that have left an impression on me or hold significance. I am largely influenced by my affinity for the coast, sun-drenched scenes, and the transient qualities of nature. I attempt to recreate the resplendence of these moments— whether it be the vibrance of an expansive landscape, or the detail in an everyday subtlety.
I feel art is a unique way of processing the world and preserving memories. My goal is to not just capture what I see; but to evoke an immediacy for the essence and feeling in that moment to the viewer.
